Batik Mentawai is a creative micro-enterprise that elevates the richness of Mentawai culture into contemporary batik works. Inspired by traditional Mentawai tattoos (titi)—known as one of the oldest tattoos in the world. Each piece of batik tells the philosophy of life of the Mentawai people, from the close relationship between humans and nature, to the value of togetherness in daily activities such as hunting, gathering, or building traditional houses (uma).
