Batik besurek merupakan batik khas Bengkulu yang bermotif kaligrafi diperpadukan dengan motif flora Bengkulu salah satunya bunga Raflesia. Asal usul nama besurek ini dikarenakan memiliki motif bermotif kaligrafi arab namun hurufarab tersebut tidak memiliki arti. Kata besurek sendiri berasal dari kata Melayu dialek Bengkulu yang berarti besurat. Betik besurek diperkenalkan oleh pedagang arab dan pekerja asal India pada abad ke 17 kepada masyarakat Bengkulu.
